Taylor Walker is a young woman who earned her black belt at DMAC and wrote an inspiring article about how it changed her. It's too long to include on this page, but you can read it here.
Master J.E. Donnelly

My son Sam and I joined Master Donnelly's school to share some quality family time. It evolved into much more. Sam and I now have an activity that we can enjoy together for a lifetime. Taekwon-Do has helped Sam focus and excel in school and in his outside sports activities. Master Donnelly works on the whole person.

After joining Master Donnelly's school with my son Sam, some important things changed in my life. I have watched my son become much more confident and focused, gotten in the best shape of my past 20 years, reduced my blood pressure and cholesterol, regained strength, am more flexible and lost 40 pounds with the help of Master Donnelly's eating tips.

Students of all ages benefit from Master Donnelly's attention to each individual who walks through his doors. His caring is apparent as he helps his students progress to the attainment of their own mental and physical goals. He always has time to discuss whatever is on the mind of anyone entering his school.

Master Donnelly helps his students achieve and maintain balance in all aspects of their life. He even referred me to a book called Eat Right For Your Blood Type that helped me get in the best shape of my last 20 years with the little side benefit of losing over 40 pounds and feeling great.

If you want your child to excel in the classroom and on the athletic field, talk to Master Donnelly. He has helped my son, Sam, tremendously. Sam is now much more focused and goal oriented. I have also seen the side benefit of improvement in my own coaching techniques.

Master Donnelly treats kids of all ages with caring respect. He is the guiding force who helps people be the best they can be.

My son and I were looking to continue the Taekwon-Do training we had begun at another school. I researched a number of martial arts schools in northwest Vermont. DMAC was the only one where it was immediately clear that the instructors were closely monitoring the students' skills, correcting and encouraging their development. That was my signal to join, a decision I have never regretted.

My son was a little shy and not very athletic. Master Donnelly and the other instructors were encouraging and supportive as we worked toward black belt. I recall, after receiving our belts, one of my son's friends asking me if he was really a black belt. When I answered "Yes", he responded, "Wow! Really?" with a look of admiration. I caught the look of pride on my son's face.

It has also carried over to his academic work, teaching him to be more methodical about his school assignments, and giving him the confidence that allows him to research topics he has not yet encountered in school.

Master Donnelly is exemplary of all that a Master should be. His time-tested techniques help his students develop not only excellent technical skills, but also discipline, self-control, respect and self-confidence. He has cultivated a substantial understanding of the human psyche, and he is able to meet each student where he is at. We've secretly named him "Yoda".

We looked him up for an activity for our then five year-old son; four years later, we're still here because he teaches good stuff for life.
