Taekwon-Do Theory of Power (6th Gup)
Most people use only 5 to 10 percent of their power. Through Taekwon-Do training and an understanding of the theory of power, people can learn to use 80 to 100 percent of their potential power.
1. Reaction Force
For every force there is an equal and opposite force where Force = Mass x Acceleration. For example, if a car strikes a brick wall with a force of two thousand pounds, then the wall returns a force of two thousand pounds.
2. Concentration
This means simply to do one thing at a time. To concentrate while hitting an object is to use all of your mind and body at the same time to strike an object. Focusing means to concentrate your power by using the smallest contact surface to strike an target in the most vulnerable area to get the maximum results.

4. Mass
refers to the weight of the amount of the body which is involved in executing a technique. The mass is maximized by having the entire body in coordinated motion at the time of impact. This is important in determining the total energy in your techniques, which is Energy = ½ x Mass x Velocity2.
5. Breath Control
means to use the breath to control movements in such a way that the movements are smooth, speed and power are maximized, and fatigue is minimized.
6. Speed
refers to the speed of the attacking tool at the point of contact where Power = Force x Velocity (speed). To maximize your power means to understand all components of the theory of power and apply them to obtain your maximum power.
